Good evening,
Or morning, or afternoon, whatever time it is that you are reading this. How are you? I think it’s really important that we start asking people how they are, not in a general “oh hi, how are you?” but asking and being genuinely interested in what someone has to say. I’m not saying people aren’t really interested when they ask, but I think we should use our time with someone to check that they are doing okay. Anyway first ramble over, I want to start writing monthly catch ups that don’t really have a set purpose and are just a more personal way of rambling about whatever pops into my head. If you’ve followed my blog since 2015, back in the “That Girl with that Blog” era then you may remember the “weekly rambles” I used to do, so I’m kicking that off again but with monthly. You are so welcome!
Last week I went to the Chesterfield Food and Drink festival and had a really lovely time, I bought this very cool looking gin that sparkles (what else do you need in life?), it’s strawberry candy floss flavoured and I’m yet to try it but I do stop and stare it for a while when passing. Naturally, I bought some brownies from “Rate Good Brownies”, I rave about them on Instagram and my Facebook page but they’re definitely worth the amazing reviews they get. Also, I bought the coolest “grater” plates, they’re small plates that you can grate things on (does it what it says on the tin basically), but me and my tiny mind were fascinated by them and they’re hand painted with Spanish decorations and oh my, I love traditional Spanish plates and bowls and everything like that. It’s definitely a good job I have a luggage allowance whenever I’m travelling back from there otherwise I’d be juggling plates left, right and centre. If you missed it this year then I recommend going next year, don’t eat beforehand though as you’ll find plenty of food there.

Personally a lot of change has been going on and I’m not going to ramble about that too much but they’re happy changes and I’m excited for the new chapter that has opened. I do have an exciting project that has emerged from these changes, and was in the pipelines before but now it is one hundred percent happening and ooooh it’s BLOODY MARVELLOUS. I’m going to do a whole post on it soon so I’ll shut up now. But I’m excited.
Ahead of final year of university, how bloody terrifying is that?!, I’ve been going into the library and doing further reading and trying to help myself out and it’s nice to be using my brain again. Which sounds completely stupid but I walk around in my own little bubble 98% of the time with my head so far in the clouds it is more than likely on Jupiter, so to have to be thinking and remembering and organising stuff makes me happy. Also, I just like writing in to my Filofax and planner to be honest, it makes me feel grown up in a way that I can managed because the rest of this “grown up” thing is not as it was advertised.
The Great North Run is four weeks away and I’m excited to do it but I’m also very nervous as I am definitely not a natural runner. I’m still looking for extra sponsors so please feel free to sponsor me and maybe even send me some running tips and how to survive this whole 13.1 miles thing.
I’m now going to end this and do nothing else for the rest of the evening and I can’t wait. Hope this week is fab for you lovely lot!
Until next time,
Lia x
P.s. Here are a few pictures I’ve taken recently…
